SBA Director John Brown presents a Family-owned Small Business of the Year award to Stacey Bricker and Shane Keizer, the owners of Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales

Mid-State Utility Trailer Sales received many awards over the years to recognize the company’s contribution to the local economy. In 2013 the company was awarded the South Dakota’s Family-owned Small Business of the Year by the Small Business Administration. The company was expanding rapidly then, having recently opened a brand new building in Sioux Falls with 10 service bays, parts showroom, sales office and a large parking lot. This new location tripled the size of the previous building and enabled Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales and their sister company Transport Refrigeration of South Dakota serve their customers faster and more efficiently. Shane Keizer and Stacy Bricker took over the ownership of Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales from their late father Jim Keizer the year before, and with their remarkable passion and dedication they would drive the business to become one of the largest family owned semi-trailer dealerships in the Midwest, consistently delivering the highest quality and best value to their customers. Their father’s motto “It’s All About The People” would be the pillar of all relationships and business decisions.
