Transport Refrigeration of South Dakota in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Refrigeration Service Manager. The Service Manager is responsible for the operations within the service department including the supervision of at least 9 refrigeration service technicians and 1 service writer as well as the management of multiple mobile service trucks. Additional responsibilities include soliciting and developing service business, customer relations and expense control.

What you will be doing:

  • Directly responsible for service department to include service technicians – leading, hiring, training, performance reviews, discipline, track attendance records and manage PTO.
  • Direct and monitor labor and material costs and negotiating on special labor rates.
  • Research and investigate new products and services constantly.
  • Ability to read and comprehend department financial information including department income statements and technician efficiency reports.
  • Oversee quality control of fieldwork performed by technicians.
  • Communicate with customers by phone and in person to attain customer satisfaction and build and grow customer relations.
  • Manage service department workflow sheets by working directly with the service writer to maintain company goals for expense hours, proficiency, rework, and work in process.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of successful service department management experience with profit and loss responsibility.
  • Proven ability to establishing new customers, including service sales in new markets.
  • Knowledge of diesel, refrigeration and mechanical principles necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and excel required. CDK Dealer Management Software experience a plus.
  • Experience managing a mobile service fleet a plus.
  • Essential customer service and communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalency is required. Associate’s Degree in Business or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR, CDL A a plus, but not required.
