#ThrowbackThursdays – Jim and Jackie Keizer purchase Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales (2001)
In the late 1990s Keizer Refrigeration grew and added many new employees to better serve the company’s expanding customer base. Then in 2001 Jim and Jackie Keizer purchased Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales, a semi-trailer dealership for Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company. Initially it consisted of two locations, Omaha and Des Moines but Jim and Jackie soon added Sioux City and Sioux Falls to the portfolio.
Today we still have many employees who were with us during those times. They remember the Keizers as the most hard working and generous people. “Jackie would always be the last one in. She would always make sure everyone has gone home for the day before she would leave” said Lori Hinds, our Accounts Payable Clerk in Sioux City. Darlene Bracht, our Accounts Receivable and Service Writer in Sioux City added “At one Christmas party Jim and Jackie bought a huge amount of presents, drills, cameras, TVs, and did a prize draw for the employees. They made sure everyone left with a present on that day.”
The legacy of Jim and Jackie Keizer continues. Jim’s children Shane and Stacy, today’s owners of Keizer companies, treat their employees like family, and make sure that everyone is well provided for. Keizer companies offer some of the best benefit packages out there, with competitive pay, a generous bonus program, health insurance, long term disability, life insurance, PTO, holiday pay, 401(k) and a whole line of voluntary benefits.
