Mid-States  Utility Trailers, Keizer Refrigeration and Transport Refrigeration of South Dakota held several events last week as part of the National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, to recognize the hard work of 3.5 million professional truck drivers who keep our industry moving forward.  More than 80% of U.S. communities rely exclusively on truck drivers to deliver goods and commodities, and some remote towns and territories are unreachable by other modes of transportation!

We kicked off the week with giveaway items for Midwest Continental, Inc in Sioux City. They sent us a photo of their truck drivers who really enjoyed their gift bags! Our Sioux City location also sponsored a Driver Appreciation luncheon for Decker Truck Lines, Inc. who employ 810 CDL truck drivers! Next day, our Service and Parts Director Mark Golden visited Tim Roorda, the Corporate Fleet Manager at Amcon Distribution and brought over shirts for their drivers. Mid-States Utility Omaha also sponsored Go Express Driver Appreciation luncheon who celebrated the work of their 54 drivers. Finally, on Friday our Omaha location held a Driver Appreciation luncheon to recognize the work of our own drivers. Mark Golden congratulated the team and presented gifts to our drivers!

Truck drivers are hardworking men and women who practice safety on the roads and serve as the faces of our industry. These drivers improve our collective quality of life by making personal commitments to safety and delivering our critical goods like medicine, food, building supplies and clothing. This week and every week we are very thankful to all truck drivers out there!
